Terms & Conditions

  1. General
    1.Subject to these terms and conditions, Citibank Berhad (Co. No. 297089-M) (“Citibank”) is conducting Citibank’s “Spot The Differences” Contest (“Contest 2”) from 4 December 2017 at 00:00 to 24 December 2017 at 23:59 (GMT +8 Malaysian Time) (both dates inclusive) (“Contest Period”).

  2. Eligibility
    2.Subject to these terms and conditions, this Contest is open to all residents of Malaysia aged 18 years and above (collectively “Participants” or each a “Participant”). Participants who have a valid WeChat account and are a follower of Citibank’s WeChat Official Account, are eligible to participate in the Contest.
     
    3.Participants who have already won a weekly prize are no longer in the running to win the weekly prizes again. However, Participants are still able to play and stand a chance to win the grand prize.
     
    4.The following persons are NOT eligible to participate in this Contest:
    4.1permanent and/or contract employees of Citibank (including its subsidiaries and related companies) including their respective immediate family members
    4.2any person or Citibank customer who has violated WeChat terms and conditions; and/or
    4.3any person who has committed or suspected to have committed any fraudulent or wrongful acts in relation to any loan, credit card, facility or service granted by Citibank, including Citibank Online, accessible via www.citibank.com.my.

  3. Contest Mechanics
    5.Participants must fulfill the following steps:
    5.1To register for the Contest, Participants are required to fill up their name, age and email address on the Contest application form available on Citibank’s WeChat “Spot The Difference” page.
    5.2Participants are required to tap on the difference between the 2 pictures in each stage.
    5.3There are 5 stages.
    5.4Participants who complete the game in the shortest time will be in the running as the Weekly Winners or Grand Prize Winner.
    5.5Participants can only play once (1) a day (00:00 hours to 11.59, GMT+8).
     
    5A.Only one entry can be accepted per Participant. Multiple entries from the same Participant or person will be disqualified. For e.g. one person with multiple WeChat accounts or email accounts. Citibank reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any suspicious entries without further notice. For the avoidance of any doubt, any persons disqualified under this Campaign will not be able to participate in this Campaign and/or receive any Prizes.
     
    6.There will be Weekly Winners and Grand Prize Winner.
    6.1Weekly winners:
    6.1.1There will be 10 weekly winners. The top 10 Participants who complete the game in the shortest time will be listed on a scoreboard.
    6.1.2Winners’ scoreboard will be refreshed every Monday.
    6.1.3Winners will be announced through WeChat posting every week upon scoreboard refresh.

    6.2Grand Prize winner:
    6.2.1Winners will be announced through WeChat posting after the end of the Contest Period.
    6.2.2In the event where there is a tie between more than one Participant for the Grand Prize, Citibank will contact the shortlisted Participants via email for contact details. These shortlisted Participants must reply within 48 hours from the time it is transmitted by Citi to furnish their mobile or telephone numbers for purposes of the tie-break questions. Each of such shortlisted Participant will be contacted by Citibank or its authorised representatives up to 2 times at the telephone numbers furnished to Citibank by Participants on a selected day on any day that Citibank in Kuala Lumpur is open for business and during office hours (10.00am – 6.00pm) to answer a set of up to 5 questions (“Q&A Session”). The Participant who answers the most question(s) correctly in the fastest time in the Grand Prize Q&A will win the Grand Prize.

    In the event Citibank or its authorised representatives is/are unable to contact a shortlisted Participant after 2 attempts and/or the Participant withdraws its participation in the Contest upon being contacted by Citibank or its appointed representatives, the Participant will be deemed disqualified from the Contest.


  4. Redemption of Prize(s)
    7.The following prizes are up for grabs:
    7.1Grand Prize: 1 x AirAsia Voucher worth RM 1,000
    7.1.1Winner will receive an email from Citibank for redemption of AirAsia Voucher.

    7.2Weekly Prizes: 10 x 1 pair of GSC Movie Tickets
    7.2.1Winners will receive an email from Citibank with instructions on how to redeem the Prize, within 8 weeks after the Weekly Winners announcement.
    7.2.2Participants also agree that by participating in this Contest, their names will be published in the Contest scoreboard on Citibank WeChat page. Participants should read and understand Citibank’s and WeChat’s respective privacy policies.

     
    8.If there is any non-receipt of the Prize(s), the Winner is required to contact Citibank via email to [email protected] by 28 February 2018 at the latest, to request for an inquiry. No request for any inquiry will be entertained after 28 February 2018.
     
    9.The Prize(s) are subject to availability. If the participating merchant or supplier is unable to supply the Prize(s) to Citibank, Citibank reserves the right at its discretion to substitute the Prize(s) with other products of approximately equivalent value at any time with prior notice. The title to the Prize(s) and any risk of loss or damage to the Prize(s) passes to the Participant upon delivery of the Prize(s) to the Participant. Citibank shall not be responsible for or obliged to recognize or replace any defective, lost, damaged or stolen Prize(s).
     
    10.To the fullest extent permitted by law, Citibank expressly excludes and disclaims any representations, warranties or endorsements, expressed or implied, written or oral, including but not limited to, any warranty of quality, merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose in respect of the Prize(s).
     
    11.To the fullest extent permitted by law, by participating in this Contest, each and every Participant is agreeing that he/she will not hold Citibank and its officers, servants, employees, representatives and/or agents (including without limitation, any third party service providers that Citibank may engage for the purposes of this Contest), liable for any loss or damages that he/she may incur, in connection with this Contest and the use of the Prize(s) by the Participant and/or any other persons. Citibank is not responsible for any lag, delay or technical issues occurring during the “Spot The Difference” game-play and/or on the WeChat app which are beyond Citibank’s reasonable control.
     
    12.The Prize(s) is non-exchangeable for cash, credit or kind, whether in part or in full.
     
    13.In the case of joint accounts, the Prize(s) will be delivered to the primary account holder only.
     
    14.Participants hereby give their consent to and authorize Citibank to disclose their particulars to the appointed representatives engaged by Citibank for purposes of this Contest, if any. Citibank warrants that the disclosure of such particulars to any third party service providers shall be limited to the Participant’s name, address and telephone number and shall be used only in relation to and for purposes of this Contest.
     
    15.Where the Prize(s) to be redeemed under this Contest are in the form of certificates/vouchers issued by participating merchants or suppliers, the Prize(s are valid for use until the date specified on the certificates/vouchers and are subject to the relevant terms and conditions applicable to using them. If they remain unused or unredeemed after any specified date, these certificates/vouchers will lapse and will not be replaced.
     
    16.In that respect, each and every Participant understands that the terms and conditions specified in the Prize(s) (where the Prize(s) are in the form of certificates/vouchers) are beyond Citibank’s control and are determined by the participating merchants or suppliers. Any dispute(s) arising out of the terms and conditions applicable to such Prize(s must be settled directly by the relevant Participant and the participating merchants or suppliers. Citibank is not responsible for investigating or resolving any disputes between any Participant and the participating merchant or supplier and is not responsible for replacing or canceling any redemption as a result of such dispute(s).
     
    17.To avoid any doubt, if the Prize(s) (where the Prize(s) are in the form of certificates/vouchers) are used for a value less than the amount stated on them, the difference will not be refunded to the Participant. If the value of the Prize(s) is less than the value of the item(s) purchased, the Participant must pay the difference.
     
    18.To avoid further doubt, where Prize(s) are in the form of certificates/vouchers for dining, travel and/or hotel accommodation purposes issued, such Prize(s) do not constitute a reservation. Participants will have to make their own reservations based on the terms and conditions applicable to using them.
     
    19.If the Prize(s) in the form of vouchers remains unused or unredeemed after the Last Redemption Date, the voucher will be automatically voided and will not be replaced.

  5. Miscellaneous
    20.Citibank's decisions on all matters relating to the Contest will be final and binding.
     
    21.Citibank shall not be liable for any default in respect of the Contest due to any act of God, war, riot, strike, lockout, industrial action, fire, flood, drought, storm, epidemic or pandemic, technical or systems failure or any event beyond the reasonable control of Citibank.
     
    22.Citibank reserves the right as it deems fit to vary or change any of these Terms and Conditions from time to time or cancel, terminate, withdraw, or suspend this Contest and/or replace this Contest with another similar promotion, Contest or program with prior notice. Such variation, changes, cancellation, termination, withdrawal or suspension will be notified by posting on Citibank’s website at www.citibank.com.my (“Website”), or in any other manner as Citibank deems fit. In this respect, the Participant’s participation in this Contest also signifies his/her agreement to access the Website at regular intervals to view these Terms and Conditions and to ensure that they are kept up-to-date with any variations or changes which Citibank may effect from time to time. Participants also agree that their continued participation in this Contest will constitute their acceptance of these Terms and Conditions (as varied from time to time) and any decisions of Citibank. For the avoidance of doubt, any cancellation, termination, withdrawal or suspension by Citibank of this Contest will not entitle Participant to any compensation against Citibank for any and all loss or damage that may be suffered or incurred by Participant as a direct or indirect result of the act of cancellation, termination, withdrawal or suspension.
     
    23.Participants hereby consent to and authorize Citibank (if required) to disclose their particulars to WeChat and any third party service providers engaged by Citibank for purposes of the Contest. Citibank warrants that the disclosure of such particulars to WeChat and any third party service providers shall be limited to the Participants’ names, addresses, email addresses, WeChat account numbers and telephone numbers and shall be used only in relation to and for purposes of the Contest.
     
    24.Neither Citibank nor its affiliates, subsidiaries, related companies or third party service providers (or their affiliates, subsidiaries and related companies) shall be liable for technical failures of any kind, including but not limited to (i) the unavailability or inaccessibility of any transmission, email or social media platform, telco or Internet service (ii) malfunction of computer, cable, network, hardware of software, or other electronic or mechanical failure.
     
    25.To the fullest extent permitted by law, by participating in the Contest, each and every Participant is agreeing that he/she will not hold Citibank and its officers, servants, employees, representatives and/or agents (including without limitation, any third party service providers that Citibank may engage for the purposes of this Contest) liable for any injury, loss or damages that he/she may incur, in connection with the Contest and the use or redemption of the Prize(s) by the Participant(s), Winner(s) and/or any other persons.
     
    26.Any term and condition applicable to this Contest which is illegal, prohibited or unenforceable under any law or regulation shall be ineffective to the extent of such illegality, voidness, prohibition or unenforceability without invalidating the remaining provisions.
     
    27.This Contest shall be subject to the regulations, directives and guidelines of Bank Negara Malaysia, and such other relevant regulatory bodies.
     
    28.These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed under the laws of Malaysia.
